The ASSYRIAN Unmasked! …And He is AMONG the Philadelphia Church of God Ministers!

O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. (Isaiah 10:5)

This is a very familiar verse often quoted as a prophecy alluded to the modern-day nation of Germany. When referred to, these two other verses in the 10th chapter of the book of Isaiah are routinely cited as accompanying verses for this prophecy.

I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets. Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few. (Isaiah 10:6-7)

But the entire 10th chapter of Isaiah is all about The Assyrian. Why are the rest of the verses not being referenced when the prophecy about the nation of Germany is discussed? Why a sudden cessation in mentioning the other 31 verses? It is because this prophecy must be viewed in its spiritual dimension. Remarkably, the whole chapter would spring to life when it is applied to what is happening inside God’s own church in this end time. In the introduction of a Key of David program entitled, “Who is Biblical Assyria?” Mr. Gerald Flurry emphasized some very important points to consider regarding Assyria:

“Who is Biblical Assyria, and why should anybody really even care? God prophesied in the book of Isaiah that they would have a reputation for destroying many nations, and I’ll show you that Isaiah is an end-time book. So, that means that Assyria, according to Isaiah, would be destroying numerous nations in the end time. In other words, there would be a modern Assyria that we could understand about if we study our Bible.

This is a pretty simple equation, I think. Isaiah is an end-time book. It prophesies about Assyria and what they do. So, there has to be a modern Assyria, but how can you prove that? Can you really prove that? Well, the very fact that God mentions them implies that God says, yes, you can understand this if you’re willing to have an open mind and prove it to yourself. Otherwise, God would look foolish for even putting it there if we couldn’t figure out who it is. So, who is modern-day Assyria? And I’ll tell you this, when you look at the Bible and all the prophecies of the Bible, you will see that the real dangers and the terrible trouble revolves around that nation in the end time — all of the world problems — if you can believe that, and we have material to prove all of that to you. This is really a very simple prophecy to prove, and yet it’s one of the most important prophecies in all the Bible. And why aren’t more people desirous of understanding it? It’s simple enough, but you’re going to find that when it comes to the Bible, people are not honest! They’re not honest when it comes to the Bible — maybe yes, in Shakespeare or any other book, practically, but not when it comes to the Bible — and you need to understand why. We all need to understand why that is the case. This nation is going to affect all the inhabitants of other nations on this earth in the end time.

For emphasis, three important statements were mentioned by Mr. Flurry in his opening words. These are as follows:

  • There would be a modern Assyria that we could understand about if we study our Bible.
  • You will see that the real dangers and the terrible trouble revolves around that nation in the end time — all of the world problems — if you can believe that.
  • This nation is going to affect all the inhabitants of other nations on this earth in the end time.

God’s people should expect a modern Assyria to rise on the scene in this present time. Moreover, they should expect terrible sufferings and threats from this modern Assyria affecting nations in this world. This is one of the most important prophecies in the Bible as Mr. Gerald Flurry mentioned. The prophecies for modern Assyria shall surely come to pass. Otherwise, as Mr. Flurry stated, “God would look foolish for even putting it there if we couldn’t figure out who it is.” So, who is Assyria today?

THE ASSYRIAN

Notice again the pivotal verse of this prophecy.

O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. (Isaiah 10:5)

The Interlinear Bible gives us a better translation of this verse. This verse is rendered this way:

“Woe, O Assyrian, the staff of my anger, and the staff, in whose hands, is my indignation.”

Observe very carefully that the phrase, “in their hand” in the King James Version of the Bible, is worded as “in whose hands” in the Interlinear Bible. Which is the proper wordings? Verse 12 of the same chapter gives us an insight.

Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks. (Isaiah 10:12)

It is shown here who categorically is being addressed in verse 5 as The Assyrian. It is the King of Assyria! Hence, this whole chapter is talking about ONE MAN – the King of Assyria and not primarily the inhabitants of Assyria or the Assyrians. The proper wordings truly in verse 5 is “in whose hands, is my indignation.” This prophecy is primarily addressed to ONE PERSON. And God is telling us here that this man is “the rod of His anger” and the staff in whose hands is God’s indignation or fury. A rod is a staff or a scepter – the club of the shepherd. It is symbolic of authority or government. This rod or club of a shepherd being in this person’s hands means that he is a minister in God’s own church. So God is using this minister’s authority or government as a means or an instrument of His anger.

THE OBJECT OF GOD’S ANGER

But why is God angry or furious? Verse 6 gives us the reason.

I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets. (Isaiah 10:6)

Observe the words “I will send him” and “will I give him a charge”. God has a purpose in sending The Assyrian. God is directing this King of Assyria against the object of His anger. The object of His anger is a nation described as a “hypocritical nation.”

Which nation is being referred to in this verse as a hypocritical nation?

We know that a nation may pertain to a church. So, if this nation is a church, which church today has become a hypocrite?

Let’s first define what a hypocrite is. A hypocrite is:

  • a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
  • a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

Religion is a way of life. And for God’s church, it’s God’s way of life – it’s a way of life wherein God’s love is seen in action. There is an outgoing concern for the good and welfare of other people. So, this church being mentioned here is putting on a false appearance of religion. And the members of this church are acting in contradiction to their stated beliefs. The people here are further described this way in Isaiah 29:13 –

Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: (Isaiah 29:13)

People are saying nice things about God, praising and honoring Him when they speak but their hearts are really not after God. Their fear towards God is not heartfelt. It is not based on God’s principles and law but according to the rule and command of the ministry. This means that the people fear the ministers more than they fear God. Observe what God has discovered in this church.

As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria; (Isaiah 10:10)

God has found the “kingdoms of the idols” in this church. Their hypocrisy has something to do with their relationship with God. Idols are mixed in their worship of God. People are committing the sin of idolatry. We know that the prophecies in the book of Isaiah are prophecies addressed to God’s own church today – The Philadelphia Church of God. So these “kingdoms of the idols” are discovered by God inside His own church. Abomination is being committed by the people. This is further observed in the 9th chapter of Isaiah.

For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.  Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. (Isaiah 9:16-17)

For these reasons, God has sent “the Assyrian” to the people of His wrath – the PCG.

PASTOR GENERAL GERALD FLURRY’S WARNING

Now, is it of any wonder that Mr. Gerald Flurry noticed that there is an alarming problem in the church and he addressed the whole church in a sermon and even mentioned this problem in his co-worker letter.

Here is what’s written on page 92 of the book, The Last End: A Book of Remembrance:

Now let’s consider: Is it then just a mere happenstance, that after only over a year of God’s house being completed, Mr. Flurry already noticed this wickedness even inside the Philadelphia Church of God? He even emphasized in his co-worker letter dated Nov. 21, 2011:

THIS deeply concerns me. It is a strong spiritual indicator that SOMETHING is not right with too many people in this Church. Let’s be honest! Isn’t that what Laodiceanism and lukewarmness is like?

Mr. Gerald Flurry further emphasized in his sermon these words, “SOMETHING IS WRONG! SOMETHING is not right with TOO MANY PEOPLE in this Church”,

If the Pastor General’s assessment of the condition of the whole Philadelphia Church of God had caused great alarm in him, it follows that indeed there is something wrong inside God’s own church today. And what is it that makes something not right? Isn’t it SIN? This indicates that God’s people are sinning against Him. Mr. Flurry gave a judgment of how the church was doing. And he ascertained that there is Laodiceanism or lukewarmness inside the church. God’s apostle had seen the true color of God’s church. This clearly shows that God’s end-time church has become a hypocritical nation. God’s church which turned into a hypocritical nation in this last era has become the object of God’s anger. This prophecy directly points to her.

And notice the part of the verse that say “and against the people of my wrath…”

God is angered by what His church is doing today. The people have provoked him to wrath. It was their hypocrisy that stirred up His wrath against them. And so God has to send His punishment to them in order to wake them up.

THE PURPOSE FOR SENDING THE ASSYRIAN

For this very purpose the Assyrian has been sent by God to this hypocritical nation:

I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets. (Isaiah 10:6)

God has appointed this King of Assyria to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets. These words are languages of war. To “take the spoil” means to “plunder them.” To tread down, according to Barnes Commentary, means the vanquished and the slain are trodden down by horses of the conquering army. Also, it means here, that the Assyrian would humble and subdue the people; that he would trample indignantly on the nation, regarding them with contempt, and no more to be esteemed than the mire of the streets.

According to Gill Commentary, being tread down like the mire of the streets denotes:

  • the great subjection of the people to him;
  • the very low and mean estate into which they should be brought;
  • the great contempt they should be had in;
  • the little account that should be had of them;
  • and their inability to help and recover themselves.

God’s people were brought under great subjection to the King of Assyria. The members of God’s church were being trampled like the mire of street. This is a figure for extreme degradation. God has directed the King of Assyria to spoil and tread down this hypocritical church. So, who is this Assyrian charged by God to tread down His church?

THE DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSYRIAN

Notice how The Assyrian is described in verse 7.

Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few. (Isaiah 10:7)

The Assyrian is described here as an unconscious instrument in God’s hand. He does not think that his trampling of God’s people like the mire of the streets is appointed by God Himself. He is not thinking that he is doing this under God’s direction. What he is thinking about is his ambitious plans of universal conquest.

The Assyrian has his own plan which he intends to accomplish. He is thinking only about his own plan. But God knew what’s in his heart. He knew about his plan. What God saw was a WICKED INTENTION in his heart! That’s why a WOE was denounced against him for this WICKED INTENTION.

The Assyrian plans to conquer the whole PCG. He plans to put everyone in subjection to him. It is in his heart to destroy and cut off many nations who will not bow down to him and to cut off those who will go against what he has planned to accomplish. So, God designed to make use of his wicked intention, his wicked plan, in punishing His own people for their sins. God overruled the plans of the Assyrian to His own purpose.

THE IDENTITY

Who among the ministers in the Philadelphia Church of God do we know has planned to take over the whole PCG? Who has maneuvered to position himself and his sons to secure the top posts in the ministry in the whole world in terms of the widest extent of power?

Without a doubt, the king of Assyria being referred to in here is none other than John Macdonald.

John Macdonald is “The Assyrian” of Isaiah 10! And his sons and those other ministers who are part of the 25 men of Ezekiel 8 who do those same wickedness that he does including those following in his footsteps are the spiritual Assyrians, remember the principle in Haggai chapter 2 how he was able to transmit his wickedness (it will be discussed later). John Macdonald was able to wrest control from the Flurrys two-thirds (2/3) of the whole world in terms of territory or dominion. Remember that his goal is to take over the control of the whole world.

Territory of the Macdonalds over PCG members around the world

He and his sons had taken the top positions in their respective regions for some time until John Macdonald was demoted to the rank of an Associate Pastor, perhaps temporarily or as a disguise. Notice how this plan of universal control was mentioned in our article, “John Macdonald, Satan Coming in the Flesh.

John Macdonald - Satan Coming in the Flesh

“This Macdonald family in the PCG has cut off many of God’s people, look at the partial list herehere and hereThis clan wants to increase that which is not theirs – Brad Macdonald taking the UK/Europe Regional Director position from Matthew Robinson, while Kirk Macdonald took the lead position of an Associate Pastor (Preaching Elder) for the Manila and Angeles City congregation, while their ever scheming father, John Macdonald has taken the Regional Director post of Max Rumler in Africa, Asia and Oceania. This John Macdonald just like what his forefather and namesake had done, wants to “enlarge his desire as hell” – he made a secret pact with the Church’s NUMBER ONE ENEMY, Satan the devil! He has allowed Satan to come into his flesh just to achieve his ultimate goal. He through his son Brad (meaning TREASON) is the instrument by which Satan was able to obtain VICTORY over which work to choose – the work in Ophel Mount in Jerusalem or a work in Edstone Hall in England.”

John Macdonald, just like his ancestor, wants to enlarge his desire as hell! His plan involved bringing all nations under his subjection. He will cut off those whom he thinks would be a hindrance to the attainment of his goal and those who would go against his desire of putting everyone in subjection to him. That’s why this Assyrian has suspended so many of God’s own people. To date, we have accounted close to 300 members who were cut off by the Assyrian. And this figure is just for the Philippines alone. What about our brethren whom He has cut-off from the church in other nations which are under his rule or influence? Indeed, it is in his heart to destroy and cut off many people.

In his bible study, he said that he wanted to wipe out the entire membership of God’s church in the Philippines. He added that he’s willing to cut off everyone and start with just one person. What kind of mindset does this man has? This is the mindset of the Devil! Even the ministers he has ordained has this same thinking. These ministers who have become “molten images” of John Macdonald has been acting in the same manner as he did.

AN APT DESCRIPTION IN ONE VERSE

Verse 13 is a very fitting picture of how The Assyrian, John Macdonald, has executed his hidden plan.

For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man:(Isaiah 10:13)

1. Trust in the strength of his own hand

John Macdonald trusts in the strength of his own hand and not in God’s strength. He knows that he can do things on his own without the help of other people. He knows that he is a great planner and a good manager. He loves to do micromanagement or work hands-on. He always wanted to be involved even in the smallest task like directing queues for food. He wants his subordinates to consult him for every minutest decision that they have to make. This makes them act like robots who are all under his control.

2. Prudent and Wise

He thinks that He is wise and trust his own wisdom. He believes that he can accomplish things by his own thoughts. He ascribes his success to his own understanding, rather than to God. He knows himself that he is prudent. And he imputes his accomplishments to his own prudence and not to divine influence and intervention. These are all about the SELF. God is not in the picture. He works by himself and not through God’s holy spirit which can do mighty works in us.

And with these carnal qualities that he has, he was able to accomplish the acts of oppression, captivity, and robbery of God’s people.

THE ASSYRIAN’S FEATS

We will now discuss the accomplishments of John Macdonald according to what has been prophesied in the Bible. And before we proceed, we must remember that even before he became the Regional Director that replaced Max Rumler in the in Africa, Asia and Oceania region, he was already a great influence over his immediate superior, who went to the PCG Headquarters in Oklahoma from time to time. Why is this subject important? Because it is related to a prophecy in Haggai chapter 2 on how John Macdonald was able to spread his influence and wickedness throughout the whole Philadelphia Church of God.

“In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying, If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it become holy? And the priests answered and said, No. Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean. Then answered Haggai and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.” (Haggai 2:10-14)

For a better understanding of these verses, let us read from The Last End – A Book of Remembrance:

For emphasis let’s read again what the prophet Haggai asked from the priests concerning the law:

“If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.

“Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.”

Now to better understand, let us again consider the following paraphrase:

“Lo! Behold any steward or minister of Christ who desires for himself to become holy or desires for himself to be raised in rank and power to God’s holy office, yet he acts covertly, secretly, even insidiously, while his real intention is to pillage and plunder, to deal deceitfully, treacherously, unfaithfully, to offend and eventually transgress; So while he is in the pinnacle of his deceit, he lay his hand upon God’s work to preach, to publish and carry good tidings, to conduct Passover ceremonies, to baptize people, or to anoint with oil for healing, inside God’s own Church. Shall whatsoever his hands lay upon be holy? NO!”

“And if that man who is defiled by his human nature, lay hands upon any of those, shall God’s work become defiled as well? Yes it shall be defiled!”

“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”(James 2:10)

“Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean” (Hag. 2:14). In God’s view, His own Church became unclean because of those ministers that defile it.

Considering further, let’s read what Matthew Henry Commentary wrote regarding Haggai 2:12-13:

God sees there are many among them that spoil this good work, by going about it with unsanctified hearts and hands, and are likely to gain no advantage to themselves by it; these are here convicted, and all are warned thereby to purify the hands they employ in this work, for to the pure only all things are pure, and from the pure only that comes which is pure…

Perhaps Haggai was therefore ordered to consult the priests, that out of their own mouths he might judge both them and the people committed to their charge, and convict them of worse than ceremonial pollution. (See Lev. 10:10-11). Now the rules of the law, in the cases propounded, are:

(1.) That he that has holy flesh in his clothes cannot by the touch of his clothes communicate holiness…

(2.) That he that is ceremonially unclean by the touch of a dead body does by his touch communicate that uncleanness.

Again for emphasis, as indicated in Haggai 2:12, the holiness of an object CANNOT be imparted and transmitted to another object when it is brought into contact to that holy object, while the uncleanness of an object CAN be imparted and transmitted to another object when it is brought into contact to that unclean object.

So in a very big way, 1 Timothy 5:22: could very well be a complementary scripture for Haggai 2:12 which says: “Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.” From Barnes Commentary regarding 1 Timothy 5:22 we read:

Lay hands suddenly on no man – …the obvious meaning is to refer it to ordination. It was usual to lay the hands on the heads of those who were ordained to a sacred office, or appointed to perform an important duty…The idea here is, that Timothy should not be hasty in an act so important as that of introducing people to the ministry.…He should not at once introduce a man to the ministry because he gave evidence of piety, or because he burned with an ardent zeal, or because he thought himself qualified for the work…

While Clarke’s Commentary states this:

Neither be partaker of other men’s sins IT IS A SIN FOR ANY IMPROPER PERSON TO THRUST HIMSELF INTO THE SACRED OFFICE; and he partakes of that sin who introduces, helps him forward, or sanctions him in it.

And JFB Commentary has this to say:

neither be partaker of other men’s sinsby negligence in ordaining ungodly

candidates, and so becoming in some degree responsible for their sins.

So just as in Haggai 2:12, the Apostle Paul reminded Timothy that if a minister who is holy will ordain someone in a hasty manner a person who is ungodly, then that minister even though he is holy will be a partaker of the sins of that ungodly person that was ordained –

The holiness of the minister CANNOT be imparted or transmitted to that ungodly person that was ordained, but the uncleanness of that ungodly person once ordained CAN be imparted and transmitted to the holy minister. And anything that they both lay hands upon shall be defiled. And on and on the uncleanness will be transmitted to the others as well, like a very contagious disease. (pp. 135-137, The Last End – A Book of Remembrance)

For emphasis, John Macdonald was able to impart and transmit his UNCLEANNESS within the whole PCG ministry through his close association with former Regional Director Max Rumler. Mr. Rumler then frequently visited the PCG Headquarters in Edmond, Oklahoma to report to Pastor General Gerald Flurry. Moreover, John Macdonald’s son, Brad is a close fellow of Stephen Flurry – that is how the whole Philadelphia Church of God became defiled. The UNCLEANNESS of John Macdonald was TRANSMITTED LIKE A VERY CONTAGIOUS DISEASE among the Philadelphia Church of God ministers! Now, here is a list of what The Assyrian has been prophesied to do and has done so far:

  • He removed the bounds of the people

For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man: (Isaiah 10:13)

Notice Gill Commentary’s remarks on this phrase “I have removed the bounds of the people.”

by subduing kingdoms, and adding them to his own, so that they were no more distinct governments; and by transplanting the inhabitants of them to other places, and making new colonies and settlements; and so the Targum,

“and I have removed the people from province to province:”

taking that to himself which belongs to God, …”

How aptly this comment applies to what John Macdonald has done to our brethren! John Macdonald has removed the people from province to province!

He urged the brethren who lived in the provinces to sell their houses and properties, leave whatever work or means of livelihood that they had and move to Angeles, Pampanga. He was successful in moving a lot of the families close to him. As a result, many congregations in the provinces was closed down due to the huge reduction of people who would meet every Sabbath. He has “subdued kingdoms (shut down congregations)” and “added them to his own (in Angeles, Pampanga), so that they were no more distinct governments (or distinct congregations).”

He “transplanted the inhabitants of them (PCG members in provinces) to other places (Angeles, Pampanga) and made new colonies and settlements.” And John Macdonald TOOK TO HIMSELF WHICH BELONGS TO GOD! What a despicable, shameful act he has done!

He has committed this same act in other regions within his jurisdiction. There was an announcement that was read regarding South African members being urged to move to Australia. So this is not just an isolated case. He wanted all the brethren to be under his control and influence. He would not be able to control the people if they are far from him. But God has pronounced a WOE to John Macdonald and to his minions for doing this.

Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth! In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant. Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of an homer shall yield an ephah. (Isaiah 5:8-10)

Though John Macdonald has made new colonies and settlements to himself by joining the people house to house yet the end results were disintegration of families, unhappiness, depression and misery.

  • He robbed the treasures of the people

Notice another wickedness which John Macdonald has committed.

For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man: (Isa 10:13)

John Macdonald has robbed the treasures of God’s people. In what way has he robbed our brethren? One major area is through our children.

Children are God’s gift to His people. They are like treasures to us. And what did John Macdonald do to the children of the members? He took them away from their parents. When John Macdonald realized that he could not persuade all families to move to Angeles, Pampanga, he enforced a rule, which is being practiced as a custom in the Western world, for Singles 18 years and above to separate from their parents and live on their own. He then convinced them to transfer to Angeles, Pampanga, and even guaranteeing help in finding a job and a place to stay.

So, John Macdonald was able to convince our young people to move from the security and comfort of our own homes to his own area of control and INFLUENCE. John Macdonald made our own children his own! He became their god! He tells them what to do. He’s making decisions for them. Even going contrary to the wishes and advice of their own parents. In the process, dishonoring and neglecting them. Isn’t this great wickedness and abomination?

He made the 5th commandment of God of no effect to God’s people including the great promise attached to it.

Truly, Satan is coming in the flesh of John Macdonald.

As for those Singles who could not find a job, the Macdonalds made them maids in their house while they live in comfort and luxury. The phrase “and have robbed their treasures” in verse 13 has a deeper meaning.

For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man: (Isaiah 10:13)

In Strong’s Concordance, the word treasures in this phrase means prepared or ready. It comes from a primitive root which means to prepare: – make fit, be ready to become.

And what are God’s people ready to become?

God’s people are ready to become gods! And what did The Assyrian do? He robbed from many of our brethren that transcendent opportunity to become gods. They have become spiritual Edomites! And what’s worst is that they are ignorant of what they have turned into. They have no knowledge of what is going on. They don’t know that they’re following a man to destruction. They have become blind. Isaiah 42:22 tells us the state of the PCG today.

But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore. (Isaiah 42:22)

Oh, what a pitiful condition! God’s people are being robbed and spoiled by The Assyrian and his cohorts. They are for a prey. They are the targets and the victims. And not even one minister took a stand and said, Restore!  A classic example of how even the family of John Macdonald has been fulfilling the prophecy in verse 22  of robbing and spoiling God’s people instead of restoring them spiritually: Just look at where the time of his son Kirk being a PCG Preaching Elder with his wife Nicole, are being spent – they focused much of their precious time in practicing and participating in Triathlons while the people are being destroyed spiritually. Moreover, these poor victims plus all those who were cut-off by John Macdonald and the other Assyrians who did not know what to do or where to go have fallen into an irretrievable state because of their bitterness to the ministry.

The Macdonald Triathlon 2015

  • He put down the inhabitants like a valiant man

Through his boldness, courage, and determination, John Macdonald, was able to bring down or subdue many of God’s people.

For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man: (Isaiah 10:13)

One commentator renders the words, “as a valiant man,” as “Them that were strongly seated.” Another renders this as, ‘Them that sat upon thrones.’

According to the keri or Hebrew marginal, the passage is to be rendered, “And I, a mighty one, threw down kings” — those sitting on thrones. (Keil & Delitzsch Commentary)

This was noted earlier how John Macdonald positioned himself and his sons to gain control of 4 continents in the whole world where the Philadelphia Church of God has membership presence. John Macdonald maneuvered to throw down kings (ministers) so that he and his sons would be able to take key positions in the church.

What Barnes Commentary noted for this verse, regarding The Assyrian, perfectly matched with what John Macdonald has done to God’s people.

“The Chaldee renders the verse, not literally, but according to the sense, ‘I have made people to migrate from province to province, and have plundered the cities that were the subjects of praise, and have brought down by strength those who dwelt in fortified places. (Barnes Commentary)”

  • The Assyrian’s Nest

And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped. (Isaiah 10:14)

Keil & Delitzsch Commentary translates this verse this way:

And my hand extracted the wealth of the nations like a nest: and as men sweep up forsaken eggs, have I swept the whole earth; there was none that moved the wing, and opened the mouth, and chirped.”

Notice how John Macdonald boasts of the way he has gotten the wealth of the nations. He has done it with a great deal of ease as if gathering the eggs without any resistance from the mother bird who is away. There was nobody to oppose him like what an angry bird does when her nest is about to be robbed.

Nobody opened the mouth. Nobody made a noise in alarm. The dread of John Macdonald and his power produced perfect silence and submission among the people. He was able to steal our children from us without any opposition. If we view this in the literal sense, John Macdonald, including his sons and his cohorts have found the riches of the people, which refer to the wealth or money of the people, as a nest or as their dwelling.

Just look at how luxuriously they live. They’re living in a nice house with great amenities. They drive high-end vehicles. Well, to them they consider their “Toyota Fortuner” as an ordinary vehicle. The Macdonalds love to travel bringing along their families with them. Imagine the cost of travel from Philippines to Australia, then Edstone, and then back again to the Philippines. Where are they getting the funds for this? Definitely, from the tithes and offerings of the people!

So what do they do to sustain this kind of living? They reward those well-to-do people in the church with position of authority even though they don’t meet the qualifications as stated in the Bible. The tithes and offerings of these rich individuals are their main target. Also, they try to do their best in taking care of those members who are giving huge amount of offerings. They make sure that they would pay them a visit on a regular basis.

John Macdonald, more often than not, would ask a PCG member whom he just met in the province with question like, “What do you do?” His son Kirk and those ministers they have ordained would ask our brethren, “How’s your work?” What’s the bottom line? It’s really all about THE MONEY!

The Assyrian and his minions don’t really care about the welfare of all of God’s people. Otherwise, they would have supported those who lack the funds in going to the feast. Just ask for those poor and disabled people why they were not able to attend the feast? The truth is, it is because they were neglected or abandoned by these spiritual Assyrians. This is something God’s people should wake up to. Please open your eyes to this. Test your leaders and look at their fruits.

  • He smites and lifts up his rod after the manner of Egypt

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt. (Isaiah 10:24)

Notice here that God’s people are afraid of The Assyrian. Yes, the people fear John Macdonald. His actions and the manner by which he execute judgment on God’s people have caused great terror. When he is around, the members are worried and alarmed. There is a feeling of anxiety. People would always think that something bad or terrifying would happen. People would expect another reprimand or castigation or even worst, perhaps, another suspension or disfellowshipment. The members are oppressed and suffered injustice in the hands of John Macdonald. When he tells a member, “We need to catch up,” the member would suddenly feel pressured and frightened.

John Macdonald will smite you with his rod. If you reason with him, he would say, “Oh, you have a government problem. You better take a 3 months leave.” And so we often see people troubled, uneasy, distressed, or crying. Notice how Barnes Commentary describes the manner of oppression inflicted by The Assyrian on God’s people.

“After the manner of Egypt – ….. the nature of his oppressions shall be like those which the Egyptians under Pharaoh inflicted on the Jews. There are “two” ideas evidently implied here.

(1) That the oppression would be heavy and severe. Those which their fathers experienced in Egypt were exceedingly burdensome and cruel. So it would be in the calamities that the Assyrian would bring upon them.

(2) Their fathers had been delivered from the oppressions of the Egyptians. And so it would be now. The Assyrian would oppress them; but God would deliver and save them. The phrase, ‘in the way of,’ is used to denote “after the manner of,” or, as an example, in Amo_4:10, ‘I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt;’ Hebrew, ‘In the way of Egypt;’ compare Eze_20:30.”

But God tells His people in the PCG not to be frightened by what John Macdonald is doing to them. Though they suffer oppression and hurt by his exactions as he smites with his rod, though they suffer in his hands in the same manner as the Egyptian taskmasters afflicted the Israelites with hard bondage in Egypt, God is exhorting His people that there would be an end of John Macdonald’s oppression. Help is on the way. God will deliver His people just as He delivered the ancient Israelites from Pharaoh and the Egyptians.

  • A burden and a yoke

Verse 27 describes John Macdonald as a burden on the shoulders of God’s people and a yoke on their necks.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. (Isaiah 10:27)

A burden is borne on the shoulder. Therefore, John Macdonald’s oppression and severe exaction are borne on the shoulders of God’s people. The figure of speech “yoke around someone’s neck” means also something that oppresses people. It is synonymous with the phrase, “a burden on the shoulder.” John Macdonald’s burden and yoke hurt God’s people extremely. The injustice and severe penalties that he levies on people are like heavy loads being carried by the people. Even with the slightest infraction of the rules and policies set by John Macdonald, the corresponding penalty is often outrageous. Indeed, it is in John Macdonald’s heart to destroy and to cut off people and nations not a few.

Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few. (Isaiah 10:7)

Not only is John Macdonald’s heart so wicked, he also has a very stout heart as mentioned in verse 12 of the same chapter. In verse 8, he says …

For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings? (Isaiah 10:8)

His sons Brad and Kirk are both holding top positions in the ministry in their respective areas. Brad as mentioned earlier is the current Regional Director for UK/Europe and Kirk is the Associate Pastor for the Philippines. Ancestry-wise, John Macdonald knows that his princes or sons, came from the lineage of kings. His son Brad Macdonald even broadcasted about this royal line of their family in his Twitter account:

“Sweet! Been researching history of British Isles & discovered that clan Macdonald traces its roots back to the High Kings of Ireland…”

Brad Macdonald high kings of Ireland

Their ancestors were the high kings of Ireland! John Macdonald thinks that they are no ordinary people. He knew his family is of a royal pedigree. That’s why in verse 12, he is described with a stout heart.

Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks. (Isaiah 10:12)

In Hebrew, stout of heart” means “greatness of heart,” that is, “pride of heart.” There is pride in his heart. John Macdonald is proud of his bloodline and his family. His looks exudes boasting and conceit because of this.

John Macdonald’s haughtiness of heart is vividly illustrated in the 31st chapter of Ezekiel. The whole chapter is also a prophecy about The Assyrian as indicated in verse 3.

Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs. (Ezekiel 31:3)

The Assyrian is the focal point in this prophecy. Though in verse 2, Pharaoh, the king of Egypt and his people are being addressed by the prophet, we can confirm in the last verse that he and his men are the same group of people being discussed in this chapter as The Assyrian and his cohorts.

To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD. (Ezekiel 31:18)

In verse 2, God is asking Pharaoh or The Assyrian, “Who are you like in your greatness?” This is the same King of Assyria being discussed in Isaiah 10:12 with a stout heart or “pride of heart” and conceited look.

Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness? (Ezekiel 31:2)

And notice how The Assyrian is described in verse 3.

Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs. (Ezekiel 31:3)

John Macdonald is described here as the Assyrian who was a cedar in Lebanon. This is what Ryan Malone wrote about the cedars of Lebanon in his article entitled, “Grow like a CEDAR IN LEBANON,” in January-February 2008 issue of the Royal Vision:

“The cedar of Lebanon is a cone-producing tree that can grow up to 120 feet tall (imagine a 10- to 12-story building). Its branches are wide-spreading, and go straight out horizontally 30 to 50 feet from the trunk. It was known in biblical areas as “the king of trees.”

The cedars, so large, lofty, and grand, are symbolic of high-ranking ministers in the church.

From a local church elder position, John Macdonald flourished and grew so large — rose in rank and became high in position in the ministry. He was promoted to the office of Regional Director. He was exalted above all the other ministers and his dominion became so wide.

Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth. All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations. Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters. The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty. I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him. (Ezekiel 31:5-9)

The garden of Eden in this passage is symbolic of God’s own church in this end time, the PCG. Verses 8 and 9 imply that The Assyrian is in the garden of God. This is one proof that he is inside God’s church. And God allowed The Assyrian to be fair or great that all the ministers in His garden envied him.

The STOUT HEART

But John Macdonald lifted himself up and his heart was also lifted up in his ascension to height. This was the root cause of the problem – his heart being lifted up.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height; (Ezekiel 31:10 )

John Macdonald’s heart is lifted up. This is the reason why Lucipher was transformed into Satan the Devil. The Assyrian’s heart was also lifted up just like what happened to Lucipher (Ezek. 28:17). His heart became stout because of his promotion to top office. And so iniquity was found also in his heart.

GOD’S CORRECTION

There will come a time when John Macdonald’s glory and his greatness among the ministers in the Philadelphia Church of God shall come to an end. The great God to whom all glory and honor truly belongs will intervene and will overthrow and humble John Macdonald together with the trees of Eden or the ministers who are part of the confederated 25 men of Ezekiel chapter 8.

Who are these uncircumcised being alluded to here? Here is what Mr. Gerald Flurry and Dennis Leap wrote in their article entitled, “Zadok and the British Throne: Part Two” in The Philadelphia Trumpet, December 1993 issue regarding these strangers who are uncircumcised in heart and flesh and brought into God’s true church in this end time.

Strangers in the Sanctuary

Ezekiel 44 contains a description of the future temple’s sanctuary. Verses 1-4 describe the sacredness of this very holy place. No human being will be allowed to enter into it.

This chapter also describes the state of God’s sanctuary today. We know that the word “sanctuary” in prophecy refers to God’s end-time Church. There are very tragic events happening within God’s sanctuary today.

“And the Lord said unto me, Son of man, mark well, and behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears all that I say unto thee concerning all the ordinances of the house of the Lord, and all the laws thereof; and mark well the entering in of the house, with every going forth of the sanctuary. And thou shalt say to the rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God; O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your abominations, in that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations” (Ezek. 44:5-7).

Ezekiel was told to “mark well” what was happening in the sanctuary. God let Ezekiel know that He was very upset with what was happening in His sanctuary. God expected Ezekiel to deliver a message to the rebellious. The word “rebellious” refers to God’s ministry today. Remember, it was the priests who were in charge of the sanctuary.

These end-time, rebellious priests have allowed “strangers, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my [God’s] sanctuary.” This means that God’s Church has become polluted in this end time. This also means that there was a time when it was not polluted. Has this happened in God’s Church today? Absolutely! Who has done this? These verses can only refer to the Laodicean ministry!

By letting the strangers into the sanctuary, this rebellious house of Israel has also broken God’s covenant. The verses here are very similar to Malachi 2.

God continues His indictment of these priests. “And ye have not kept the charge of mine holy things: but ye have set keepers of my charge in my sanctuary for yourselves. Thus saith the Lord God; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel” (Ezek. 44:8-9). These priests are very disloyal to God. They have not “kept the charge” of God’s holy things. What priests are doing this today? In Revelation 3:10, Christ says that the Philadelphians have kept God’s word.

Why were strangers let into the sanctuary? Why was God’s covenant broken? “And the Levites that are gone away far from me, when Israel went astray, which went astray away from me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity. Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them. Because they ministered unto them before their idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lifted up mine hand against them, saith the Lord God, and they shall bear their iniquity” (Ezek. 44:10-12). The Levites or priests went far away from God.

In this end time, which ministers have gone far away from God? The Laodicean ministers. God showed Ezekiel that the Levites caused the people to “fall into iniquity.” This means that there was a time when these ministers were leading the people into righteousness. Laodicean ministers are leading God’s people into iniquity. God promises that He is going to punish them for their iniquity.”

The ministry have brought in strangers into God’s sanctuary and created serious problems for the church. Thus, the ministers together with these strangers will be punished by God. God will soon topple them all. And John Macdonald shall lie in the midst of these ministers who are uncircumcised in heart and flesh.

God tells us also in this verse that all the metaphors mentioned in this verse regarding the lofty cedar is actually referring to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, including his allies and people. What is said of The Assyrian belongs to Pharaoh. But when will the downfall of John Macdonald and his cronies happen?

God’s overthrow of John Macdonald will happen when He has completed His whole work upon His church, that of punishing His people through John Macdonald’s hands. After this has been done, God will deal with John Macdonald next.

Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks. (Isaiah 10:12)

Payback time will surely come. It’s guaranteed. What God has planned and purposed will certainly happen. After God has done His entire work with regard to correcting, punishing, humbling His people in the PCG by letting them suffer in the hands of John Macdonald and his minions, He will then punish John Macdonald, the very instrument which He is using in scourging His people. The word punish in Hebrew is “I will visit.” This is the time of God’s visitation and the day of desolation coming from far being referred to in verse 3 of the same chapter.

And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory? (Isaiah 10:3)

This is the day of visitation or days of visitation (Hosea 9:7) or the year of recompense upon the sinners in Zion. We are in this period right now! God is punishing John Macdonald for the fruit of his stout heart. Here it means, as Barnes Commentary noted, that which a proud heart had produced or designed, that is, plans of pride and ambition; schemes of conquest and of blood.

This is the same as what has been earlier discussed referring to the wicked intention in his heart — to destroy and cut off many nations. God will also remove from John Macdonald that air of majesty and haughtiness which he exudes. Remember that John Macdonald is God’s instrument in accomplishing His purpose. He is the rod or staff of his anger.

Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood. (Isaiah 10:15)

It will be absurd that a mere instrument should exalt itself against Him who makes use of it. This verse is a rebuke to John Macdonald for his pride and arrogance. It’s a reminder that he is just a tool of chastisement in God’s hand to accomplish His purpose. Though our brethren fear and trembled at his power, yet God is just using him and directing him in accomplishing His designs and plan. The Lord of hosts, in verse 16 of Isaiah 10, portends a threat of rebuke that would happen to The Assyrian because of his pride and wickedness. The rest of the verses show the details of His rebuke.

Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire. (Isaiah 10:16)

Without warning, God will kindle a fire under his glory and completely destroy his splendor and pride. The word leanness is used to signify disease or destruction as the body becomes lean or thin when infected with disease.  God will send this leanness to the army of the Assyrian described as his “fat ones” who takes pride in the accomplishments of their leader. John Macdonald and his men will be wasted away as with a pestilential disease as Barnes Commentary puts it.

This fire, ignited by God, refers to the light of Israel and his Holy One. The word “light” also means a “fire,” or that which causes light and heat. This fire will consume John Macdonald, burn his followers (thorns and briers), and consume the glory of his forest. The end result is a great reduction in the number of trees that would be left. Here is what Barnes Commentary says about the phrase, “that a child may write them.”

“That a child may write them – That a child shall be able to number them, or write their names; that is, they shall be very few. A child can number or count but few; yet the number of those who would be left, would be so very small that even a child could count them with ease.”

And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day; And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth. And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them. (Isaiah 10:17-19)

The effect of God’s judgment, through the fire that God kindled, will be God’s people leaving John Macdonald and his followers. They will not stay with him anymore. Just as the Remembrancers of God have left The Assyrian and put their trust only to God, these remnant, likewise, will return to God and trust also in Him exclusively.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God. For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness. For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt. (Isaiah 10:20-24)

God comforts His people in the PCG with the hope of deliverance from the hands of John Macdonald and his allies. God will soon destroy them by sweeping them off with pestilence through the fire sparked by God. In their destruction, God’s anger shall come to an end and God’s people shall be delivered.

For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction. (Isaiah 10:25)

God shall rouse a scourge or whip to inflict severe pain or punishment to John Macdonald, the nature of which is according to the defeat and killing of the Midianites by Gideon. The rock of Oreb was where Gideon killed Oreb and Zeeb, princes of Midian. God will overthrow and destroy John Macdonald in the same way as He overthrew the Egyptians in the Red Sea. His destruction would also be notable and absolute.

And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt. And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. (Isaiah 10:26-27)

Finally the exactions and oppressions brought by The Assyrian shall be put to an end through the anointing. According to Barnes Commentary, expositors have greatly differed in their interpretation of the phrase, “and the yoke shall be destroyed because of anointing.” He cited numerous expositors with their own explanation of these words. In the end, he conclude with this statement: “I confess that none of these explanations seem to me to be satisfactory, and that I do not know what is the meaning of the expression.”

Indeed, the expositors explanations are varied which make them confusing. But this word anointing simply means “oil.” How would the burden be destroyed because of oil? What oil is being referred in here? This oil denotes new revelations poured out by God through His witnesses. It would be through God’s new revelations that The Assyrian’s yoke in God’s peoples’ necks shall be destroyed. The oppressions and severe injustice will end because of God’s oil or anointing of His servants.  This oil poured out by God is what gives light to the Gentiles in this last end.

The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders. (Isaiah 14:24-25)

God has sworn that what He has prophesied will happen and what He has purposed shall stand. God will soon break The Assyrian and tread him under foot just as he has trodden down God’s people like the mire in the streets. All the evil which he has done against God’s people shall be recompensed back to him. John Macdonald’s end will soon come.

To our brethren in the PCG, God shall soon deliver and save you from the hands of John Macdonald. And finally, the yoke shall depart from off your shoulders.
